Rather than learning fewer standards, students actually learn more as they develop 21st Century Skills, complete learning objectives outlined in the Next Generation of Science Standards, as well as achieve literacy in the field of Nanotechnology.
Technology Nouns
The newest generation of students has grown up with an unprecedented amount of exposure to digital technologies. In a PBL unit, students are given the freedom to use their knowledge about various technology nouns (or types of technology) to help enhance their learning . Implementing a PBL unit into the classroom can seem intimidating to many teachers who have no exposure to this type of teaching and learning. These resources stay current as new innovations develop so they are valuable to both beginner and veteran PBL teachers.
